Hello there!
I'm Sunny Belliston Taylor. Thanks for visiting my art website! Let me tell you just a little bit about myself.
I've been painting for as long as I can remember, but its been about ten years now that it has been my primary focus - aside from being a mom of course. I have four amazing kids, and one wonderfull and talented husband. We currently live in the quiet woods of Maine, but we are originally from the Southwest desert.
I grew up in Southern Utah, studied at Brigham Young University, and then pursued my Master of Fine Arts degree at The Ohio State University. Go Buckeyes! After that, I returned to my alma mater to teach for seven years. Once I had my second baby, I felt it was time to step away from my full time teaching gig and be home to raise my kids, and also focus more on my studio career. Its hard to believe, but that was already a decade ago. I'm so grateful for the galleries, collectors, friends and family who have supported and encouraged me along the way, and helped me live my dream. I am currently represented by the beautiful Nuart Gallery, located in both Santa Fe, NM, and Los Angeles, CA.
What brings me joy in the studio is the process. I love pushing, pulling, and scraping paint in creative ways, with anything other than a paint brush. I love using patterns, geometry and abstraction to express concepts and narratives that are hard to adequately visualize. When I'm not painting, I'm cheering my kids on in their sports and school events, gathering with friends to play ultimate frisbee, volleyball or Bunco, mountain biking with my hubby, or serving in my church. All these things bring me so much joy. My life is so full and blessed. Thank you for being such an important part of it.
